Dr. Myers has been an ART provider as well as a FAKTR Practitioner and Instructor. FAKTR stands for Functional And Kinetic Treatment with Rehab, it is a concept that originated in 2010. FAKTR is a unique approach to patient care that involves not only IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation), but it also utilizes many manual and instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques and incorporates functional rehabilitation through treatment and movement. Essentially the patient may be performing rehabilitation exercises while IASTM is being administered in order to improve ROM, proprioception, flexibility within the muscle, a reduction in pain and an improvement in performance.
Dr. Myers has been a part of ART's EPN network, which is exclusive to those providers that have met and passed additional Active Release Techniques requirements to provide care to not only patients, but to major companies who want to reduce overuse injuries and prevent workplace repetitive motion injuires. The companies Dr. Myers has worked with in the past are The 3M Corporation, and The Cintas Corporation both here in Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC.
Dr. Myers provides Patient to Doctor instructed rehabilitation and physiological therapeutics that includes: patient specific stretching and strengthening exercises that help his patients get better quicker and stay well longer. He may also use some therapeutic modalites, such as Frequency Specific Microcurrent, Ultrasound, Electrical Stim and Traction to further improve the patients' outcome.
Rehabilitation exercises are instructed by Dr. Myers himself and change based on the patient's needs; so he or she can get well as fast as possible and stay well. Dr. Myers has taken countless post graduate hours in Soft Tissue Modalities and Treatments, in order to treat not only spinal related problems, but also whole body issues that require a keen knowledge of muscles and their fucntion. His passion in treating patients is to rehabilitate the entire body from head to toe, inside and out. He accomplishes this through not only Chiropractic Care, but also soft tissue treatments and rehabilitation, if needed. Since many times the area of pain is not actually the source of the problem(s), he will perform a full body movement analysis to determine the best treatments options for you. If nutrional and supplemental advice is needed, Dr. Myers can and will provide consultation based on the patients specific nutrional and dietary needs and deficicencies.
Myers Chiropractic & Functional Health excepts most insurances (including BCBS, UHC, Aetna, etc) and we have very flexible cash plans for those patients without insurance.
